Aromatherapy workshops

Introduction to aromatherapy.

In this workshop, you will be introduced to the aromatic world of aromatherapy.

We will explore some of the most useful essential oils, looking at their historical and contemporary uses, their botanical characteristics and how we can make use of them to enhance our health and wellbeing.

We will use our hands and noses to explore what we like and why we like them. You will be introduced to carrier oils, and we will explore how they can be used to deliver essential oils through our skin and into our body.

You will also have the opportunity to learn how to give a hand and arm massage (and receive one!).

At the end of the day, you will have learned:

  • What essential oils are and how we obtain them;
  • How to use them safely in the home to enhance health and wellbeing;
  • How to combine them with a carrier oil to make a massage oil;
  • How to perform a selection of massage movements
  • How to give a hand and arm massage

You will also receive:

  • A certificate of attendance;
  • Your own 30ml bottles of home-made massage oil, in 2 different blends;
  • A complimentary Purely Skincare apron.

What do I need to know?

This workshop is open to everyone. No previous knowledge is required.

However, if you hold a qualification in beauty or holistic therapy, you can receive 5 Continuing  Professional Development (CPD) points with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) for attending the workshop.

You can gain further points by using the experience to, for example, write a reflective piece of work relating to your practice, a case study, or a business or marketing plan . Please check with your own professional body to check how many CPD points you will be eligible for.

What do I need to bring?

We will provide all the equipment and ingredients you will need for the day. We have small tables to work on and there are ample chairs for resting or chatting at break times.

A notepad and pen will be useful. Although we will be providing materials for you to take home, it is always a good idea to jot down a few notes to remind yourself what, how or why you did something!

You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you can visit one of our local cafes. We will provide refreshments, so please let us know if you have any allergies, intolerances or dislikes.

We would advise that you wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as we may be standing, stirring and mixing for a while. Although you will be wearing an apron, we will be working with oils, so don’t wear your favourite clothes!

We endeavour to ensure that all our workshops are fully inclusive, so if you have any concerns about your ability to participate in our workshops, please contact us on before you book, so we can discuss your queries.

What do I need to invest?

The cost for this workshop is £95.00 per person.

This includes all materials for the day (including your take-home goodies) and light refreshments.
We start at 09.30 with introductions and refreshments, and finish at 15.30, with half an hour for lunch.

A very enjoyable day! Thank you
