Organic skincare workshops

Introduction to making organic skincare.

This introductory workshop will be an opportunity for you to develop and make your own organic skincare products, under the guidance of our experienced tutor.

We will explore common themes in skincare ‘problems’ and look at different products to see how they can help to address these issues.

You will have the opportunity to explore different organic ingredients, learning about their particular characteristics, and choose from a range of products to make and take home.

Please note that we may use organic beeswax when we are making our products, so if you are vegan and would prefer not to use beeswax, please let us know, as we have alternatives we can use in our balms instead.

Setting the scene with pink roses evokes the idea of a natural and organic product.. This could indicate greenwashing in skincare.

At the end of the day, you will have learned:

  • Some common causes of skincare issues;
  • How ingredients and products may alleviate some of the issues;
  • How to use some of these ingredients to develop and make skincare products;
  • The importance of safe development, manufacture and use of skincare products, and some important legal information.

You will also receive:

  • A certificate of attendance;
  • Your own hand-made skincare products, in 3 varieties.
  • A complimentary Purely Skincare apron.

What do I need to know?

This workshop is open to everyone. No previous knowledge is required.

However, if you hold a qualification in beauty or holistic therapy, you can receive 5 Continuing  Professional Development (CPD) points with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) for attending the workshop.

You can gain further points by using the experience to, for example, write a reflective piece of work relating to your practice, a case study, or a business or marketing plan . Please check with your own professional body to check how many CPD points you will be eligible for.

What do I need to bring?

We will provide all the equipment and ingredients you will need for the day. We have small tables to work on and there are ample chairs for resting or chatting at break times.

A notepad and pen will be useful. Although we will be providing materials for you to take home, it is always a good idea to jot down a few notes to remind yourself what, how or why you did something!

You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you can visit one of our local cafes. We will provide refreshments, so please let us know if you have any allergies, intolerances or dislikes.

We would advise that you wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as we may be standing, stirring and mixing for a while. Although you will be wearing an apron, we will be working with oils, so don’t wear your favourite clothes!

We endeavour to ensure that all our workshops are fully inclusive, so if you have any concerns about your ability to participate in our workshops, please contact us on before you book, so we can discuss your queries.

What do I need to invest?

The cost for this workshop is £125.00 per person.

This includes all materials for the day (including your take-home goodies) and light refreshments.
