The workshops are tutored by Dr Toni Haire, who has had an eclectic career, with many years of teaching and professional practice in psychology, biology, aromatherapy, sports therapy and skincare. As a former neonatal intensive care nurse, Toni gained a BSC (Hons) degree in psychology and biology, followed by a PhD in biological psychology and teaching certificate. She then returned to healthcare for a while as a genetic counsellor and research associate, before taking up a post as senior lecturer in psychology.
Initially as a hobby, Toni began her holistic training, attaining qualifications in massage, aromatherapy, sports therapy and infant massage instruction. This led to several years of voluntary work with Uttoxeter Gymnastic National Development Squad and Cheshire East Special Olympics team. Toni has also co-owned a holistic therapy salon and accredited training school and has now branched into developing and manufacturing organic skincare.
Toni has incorporated her knowledge, skills and expertise developed over her career to follow a lifestyle that she is passionate about – organic living. She has a smallholding, in which she practices organic principles, both for her animals (raised for their fleece) and fruit and veggies. You can follow the escapades of alpaca Adge and the crew, together with thoughts and tips for organic living in Toni’s blog – the Organic Shepherdess.
